Many bright and capable children struggle to learn to read, even when their parents work hard to help them. The problem is often not effort or intelligence. Many struggling readers simply have not been taught using methods that match how the brain learns to read.
When reading instruction is systematic, explicit, and structured, struggling readers can finally begin to make sense of written language. With the right instruction and practice, children who once felt frustrated and discouraged can grow into confident readers.
As a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist and Certified Academic Language Therapist, I use research-based methods designed specifically for students with dyslexia and reading difficulties. My goal is to help children experience success and confidence as they learn to read and spell.
